A Tournament Built on Family, Community, and Hope

Some stories are best told face to face. This is one of them.

The Pro-Guide Hope Classic began at the start of Truman Shumaker’s cancer treatment, the son of Pro-Guide owner Pate Shumaker. Like any parent, Pate found himself focused on what truly matters: family, faith, and hope.

What started as a personal journey quickly became a shared mission, using fishing to support families walking a road no one chooses.

Why the Hope Classic Exists

Fishing has always been at the heart of Pro-Guide. It’s where trust is earned, mornings start early, and time with family matters most.

The Hope Classic was created to bring anglers together for something bigger than competition. This tournament exists to:

• Share the real stories of families supported by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

• Raise critical funds for children fighting cancer

• Turn a day on the water into real-world impact

St. Jude supports families through the unimaginable, providing care, treatment, and hope when it’s needed most. The Hope Classic is our way of standing alongside them.
