Carl's love for fishing developed at a young age, as he grew up in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. He began participating in bass tournaments at the age of 14, competing in Australia for over a decade and securing multiple ABT titles and a televised AFC TV series win. During this time, he also won three AOY titles and Australia's most significant competition, The Grand Final Championship.
Seeking new challenges, Carl moved to the United States in 2010, determined to compete in the Bassmaster Elite Series. After a challenging initial period of learning over four years, Carl made history by becoming the first Australian angler to qualify among the top 100 anglers globally in the Bassmaster Elite Series. He has since qualified for his second Bassmaster Classic taking place in 2024.
Over the last four years, Carl has earned several top-10 finishes and made appearances on Bassmaster Live. In 2019, he finally captured his first Elite Series Event win on Lake Tenkiller in Cookson, Oklahoma, and was awarded the coveted Blue Trophy.
