What it's built for

Fish finders, kayaks and other small marine electronics, plus light boating, RV and solar storage uses that need a compact, lightweight 12V battery.

How long will it run?

For a rough estimate, divide 24Ah by your load in amps: about 24 hours on a 1A load, about 12 hours on a 2A fish finder, and about 5 hours at the 4.8A standard discharge current. The PGLM24 supports up to 30A continuous. Real runtime depends on the load, the temperature and how far you discharge the battery.

Why lithium instead of lead-acid or AGM?

A LiFePO4 battery holds its voltage under load, can use nearly all of its rated capacity and lasts thousands of cycles. A lead-acid or AGM battery of the same capacity is heavier and is usually discharged only about halfway to protect its life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the Pro-Guide PGLM24 run my fish finder?

As a rough guide, divide the 24Ah capacity by your load in amps. That works out to about 12 hours on a 2A fish finder and about 24 hours on a 1A load. Actual runtime depends on the load, the temperature and how far you discharge the battery.

How big is the PGLM24?

The PGLM24 measures 7.13 in long, 3 in wide and 6 1/2 in tall (181 x 76.2 x 165.1 mm). It is not a standard group-size battery, so check your mount or bag before you buy.

How long does it take to charge the PGLM24?

For a rough estimate, divide the 24Ah capacity by your charger's output: a 5A charger, for example, takes about 5 hours from empty. Use a charger with a LiFePO4 profile and a 14.6V charge voltage.

How many charge cycles does the PGLM24 last?

It is rated for 3,000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge and 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.

Can I charge the PGLM24 in cold weather?

Charge it between 32°F and 131°F (0°C to 55°C). It can discharge from -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C), so it can run equipment in colder conditions than it should be charged in.

Is the PGLM24 waterproof?

It carries an IP65 rating: dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets. It is not rated for immersion, so keep it in a bag, box or secured mount out of standing water.

What warranty comes with the PGLM24?

A 36-month (3-year) free replacement warranty and 60 months (5 years) of total pro-rata coverage.

How much current can the PGLM24 deliver?

It is rated for 4.8A standard discharge and 30A maximum continuous discharge, with a 190A peak for 100 milliseconds.

What is a deep-cycle lithium battery designed for?

Deep-cycle lithium batteries are designed to provide steady power over long periods and handle repeated charge and discharge cycles. They are ideal for trolling motors, marine electronics, RVs, solar systems, fishing electronics and other applications that require sustained power.

Can this battery replace my lead-acid or AGM battery?

In many applications, yes. A LiFePO₄ battery can replace a similarly sized lead-acid or AGM battery while offering more usable capacity and less weight. Always verify voltage, physical dimensions, terminal configuration and charging compatibility before replacing your existing battery.

What charger should I use with this lithium battery?

Use a charger with a LiFePO₄-compatible charging profile that matches the voltage of your battery. Some existing chargers may be compatible, but the charging specifications should always be checked before use.

Can I connect multiple lithium batteries together?

Certain Pro-Guide lithium batteries can be connected in series or parallel depending on the model. Batteries used together should be the same model, capacity, age and state of charge. Always check the specifications for the individual battery before building a battery bank.

Can a Pro-Guide lithium battery be mounted in different positions?

Because LiFePO₄ batteries do not contain free-flowing liquid like flooded lead-acid batteries, they offer significantly more installation flexibility. Follow the mounting recommendations provided for your specific battery.
